Flow Regulator

The application for selecting flow regulators was developed by experts from RetencjaPL. The purpose of this tool is to quickly and precisely select flow regulators for rainwater drainage systems.

Their main application is to provide output values ​​of outflow resulting from the current value of the output column height, as well as to stabilize flows before and after sources whose activities depend on the results (pumping stations, pre-treatment devices).

In three simple steps, the application enables efficient selection of a device tailored to the project needs based on three entered parameters: outflow rate Q [l/s], damming height H [m], and drainage pipe diameter DN [mm].

The application is available in Poland, Hungary, Sweden and Romania.

Selection of a water flow regulator

Flow regulators are intended for installation in wells and concrete or reinforced concrete tanks. They are used to regulate the flow of rainwater in the sewage network by throttling the stream of flowing liquid.

First, our application will ask you to select the retention type:

  • canal retention,
  • reservoir retention,
  • regulator behind the pump.

Next, you need to determine how to enter data regarding the damming height into the calculator.

Żarówka The damming height is the difference between the maximum damming elevation in the system and the bottom elevation of the outflow pipeline from the regulator.

We start by entering the maximum outflow rate from the regulator, i.e. the maximum limit for rainwater discharge, most often determined by the Network Manager. Then we determine the terrain elevation or damming height, the material and diameter of the drainage pipe, and the location of the regulator.

Results of flow regulator selection

The application will select the appropriate type of flow regulator for the given parameters.

Thanks to the information provided, the application generates a report that includes:

  • maximum outflow rate from the regulator,
  • height of water damming before the regulator,
  • diameters of the drainage channel pipe,
  • accumulation curve diagram.

Calculation results

Once you have made the correct selection, you can download the results as a PDF file and place them in your project.
