Fire Tank Selection

The HelCor steel retention tank sizing calculator has been developed based on ViaCon StormWater Solutions – modern stormwater retention systems made of HelCor spiral corrugated steel pipes, compliant with the EN 1090 standard. The tool enables fast and intuitive selection of a suitable retention tank, taking into account technical parameters, required storage capacity, and individual project conditions.

In just a few simple steps, the calculator allows users to select the optimal solution from a wide range of HelCor tanks, characterized by high structural strength, low self-weight, short installation time, and effective corrosion protection. The system also considers the option of applying an additional WProtect (Trench Coating) polymer coating, ensuring corrosion resistance durability exceeding 100 years.

The tool supports the design of tanks in various shapes and dimensions, individually tailored to project requirements. After completing the selection process, the user receives a summary of the key technical parameters of the tank, a proposed system configuration, and the option to generate a PDF file containing a summary of the selected solution

Fire Water Tank Capacity Calculation

How to select the capacity of a fire water tank using the calculator?

To select a HelCor steel fire water tank, the user needs to complete the basic parameters related to installation conditions, required effective storage capacity, and fire protection system components. The calculator takes into account both site constraints and functional requirements related to fire water storage.

The following data is required to perform the calculation:

  • tank installation parameters: maximum installation length and width, minimum cover height, and maximum installation depth,
  • site conditions: type of terrain where the tank will be installed,
  • required effective storage capacity for fire protection purposes,
  • fire protection system parameters: number of DN100 suction pipelines, inlet nozzle diameter, overflow, and information regarding the use of a float valve.

Based on the entered data, the calculator selects the appropriate HelCor tank configuration, ensuring the required fire protection storage capacity and adaptation of the solution to project conditions.

Fire Tank Selection Results

Based on the provided information, the calculator determines:

  • the required effective capacity of the fire water tank,
  • the recommended HelCor tank configuration,
  • technical parameters of the selected solution, such as nominal diameter DN, installation length and width, number of rows and segments,
  • filling height and total tank volume,
  • the number of access manholes and the basic equipment of the fire protection installation.

The calculator also presents a list of possible fire water tank variants, enabling comparison of technical parameters and selection of the solution best suited to the project requirements and installation conditions.

Tank Layout Preview

After selecting a variant, the user can display a schematic view of the selected fire water tank. The preview presents the tank layout, its main dimensions, nominal diameter DN, installation length, filling level, and characteristic fire protection system components such as access manholes. This allows the user to quickly verify the configuration of the solution and check whether it meets the project requirements and available installation conditions.
