Gravity Systems
The Wavin gravity system selection application allows for quick and easy selection of the required number of roof inlets for gravity roof drainage and selection of drainage system diameters from HDPE, AS+ and SiTech systems. The selection can be done automatically or manually.
In automatic selection, apart from selecting parameters such as the rainfall model or runoff coefficient, you only need to provide the type of pipe material and the total roof surface area to be drained. The application will determine the minimum required number of roof inlets and select the drainage system diameters.
In manual selection, apart from selecting parameters such as the rainfall model or type of pipe material and pipe slope, you need to provide the area per inlet, specify the runoff coefficient (may be different for each surface/inlet) and enter all installation sections and inlets, mapping the layout according to the design or assumptions.
The application is available in Poland.
Calculating the dimensions of a gravity system
Automatic method
In automatic selection, after selecting the precipitation model and runoff coefficient, it is enough to provide the pipe material and the total roof area. In automatic selection, it is not possible to differentiate the size of the area allocated to individual inlets, to use a different runoff coefficient for each surface (inlet), or to determine the order in which subsequent inlets will be connected.
The selection result only determines the number of roof inlets with a given nozzle diameter and the diameters of the installation pipes depending on the selected pipe material and their slope and maximum filling.
Available diameters for the selected pipe type:
- PEHD: 110, 125, 160, 200, 250, 315,
- AS: 110, 125, 160, 200,
- Sitech: 110, 125, 160.
Manual method
In manual selection, in addition to selecting parameters regarding, among others, the precipitation model, type of pipe material and pipe slope, you should provide:
- area per inlet,
- runoff coefficient (may be different for each surface/inlet),
- all inlets and sections of the installation, mapping the layout according to the design or assumptions.
Entering this data may take more time, but we will receive it for checking in terms of hydraulic calculations and electronic systems with what is or will be included in the installation.
The calculator also allows division into floors and 3D diagrams.
Results of selecting a gravity system
Based on the information provided, the application performs calculations and the results are presented in a PDF report.
The report contains information on:
- total roof area of the investment,
- number and parameters of required inlets.
Calculation results
Once you have made the correct selection, you can download the results as a PDF file and place them in your project.
Additionally, at any time you can directly contact the manufacturer of the solution to ask about the details of the selection, the accuracy of the calculations or request a quote for the solution.
