GRP gravity pipes

The GRP gravity pipe selection application was created in cooperation with Amiblu Poland Sp. z o.o., a renowned manufacturer and supplier of GRP pipe systems. This tool allows you to quickly determine the appropriate hydraulic and strength parameters for gravity pipes.

The application provides the user with key information regarding the optimal solution, including pipe diameter, medium flow rate and pipe filling level.

Hydraulic calculations are based on the Colebrook-White formula, and the strength analysis is carried out in accordance with the ATV127 guidelines, which are German standards for pipes installed in open trenches or trenchless methods. The application significantly streamlines the work process and allows you to significantly save time required to perform the necessary calculations related to the selection of gravity pipes.

The application is available in Poland.

Calculating the appropriate hydraulic and strength parameters for gravity pipes

When starting the selection of GRP gravity pipes, it is necessary to determine the type of sewage system for which the calculations are performed and indicate the type of selection (hydraulic-strength, or hydraulic and specify the temperature of the viscosity coefficient.

To properly configure sections for gravity pipes, the following data is required:

  • installation method (open trench, ramming, or channel renovation),
  • maximum installation width,
  • height of ground above the bottom of the flow,
  • type of native soil,
  • method of selecting the pipe diameter (automatic or manual),
  • length of the pipeline section and its slope,
  • maximum calculated filling expressed in %.

Additionally, the calculator allows you to calculate the inflow and reduced area [ha] using the configurator. This function will facilitate the calculation process and ensure the accuracy of the results.

Calculation Results for Gravity GRP Pipelines

The application will present the proposed solution and provide the following results:

  • total pipeline length,
  • total flow time through all sections,
  • design flow for sections,
  • design fill,
  • maximum capacity.

The application will allow the user to manually select the appropriate nominal diameter DN, design fill percentage and flow rate. This feature allows you to customize the results to your specific design preferences and requirements.

Calculation results

Once you have made the correct selection, you can download the results as a PDF file and place them in your project.

Additionally, at any time you can directly contact the manufacturer of the solution to ask about the details of the selection, the accuracy of the calculations or request a quote for the solution.
